This microtiter plate holder is designed to be used in a commercial X-Y positioning stage sold by Ludl. Isthmus developed this holder to meet with a clients need for improved accuracy and robot accessibility. It can be used in either of two configurations:
Dual mode (shown) – This allows both manual and automatic loading. The positioning/ holding pads within the insert are opened by pushing on ‘L’ shaped actuation arm. This is either done by the technician or by a solenoid under control of the robot.
Single mode - The actuation arm is removed in this manual load only mode. As the technician pushes the plate down against the positioning pads they open allowing the plate to be gently inserted into the holder. As the pads close the plate is biased into the reference position.
