Two of these units are connected to a computer used to track the processing of chemical samples. The purpose of the system is to eliminate operator error while sorting and relocating wanted and unwanted vials. To safeguard against error, as the computer instructs the operator which vial to pick and where to place it, it illuminates both positions as a visual check for the technician.

This custom unit that attaches to the wrist of an Adept robot has a dual function. It acts as the platform for the gripper units that manipulate the product. It also houses the air control valves plus electronic distribution for the control and sensing communications.

The picture shows one of five development machines that were built by Isthmus as part of a project to develop an assay screening system based on a new imaging technology. After in house testing and process development the client supplied these five machines plus four additional ones to customers around the world.
